Well-known as a giant in the music industry, California is the entertainment capital of the planet. Hotel California, one of the most famous hits in music to date was called after the city. That song struck #37 on the Rolling Stone Magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of all time and is created by Don Henley and The Eagles. "Some of the wilder interpretations of that song have been amazing. It was really about the excesses of American culture and certain girls we knew. But it was also about the uneasy balance between art and commerce," all these are the accurate phrases of Don Henley when he was interviewed by the London Daily Mail on November 9, 2007.Back in 1974 in Malibu, Don leased a beach house on a wonderful, sun-drenched day in July and influenced him to create that song. He picked up his 12 string guitar and away of it came the song. Starting from that day it took the Eagles 8 months of polishing take after take until they were delighted with it.
