2. House of Culture – Benque Viejo / CACHE
The Community of Artists for Cultural & Historical Endeavours (CACHE) was integrated in the year 2000 as an offshoot of the Historical & Cultural Association of Benque Viejo, with the primary objective of establishing and supporting the House of Culture in the municipality of Benque Viejo del Carmen in western Belize. The mission of HOC Benque and CACHE involves the promoting and preserving of key aspects of the Maya and Mestizo culture predominant in western Belize.

As such, these entities have sought to promote traditional arts particular to the area. Cognizant of the fact that culture and art evolve, HOC Benque and CACHE embrace the opportunity to expose the people to contemporary forms of art.

HOC Benque and CACHE are supported by the Government of Belize, through the National Institute of Culture and History, and patrons in and outside Belize.
