MODELING VERSUS ACTING – WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE?

I just started taking a class called Commercial Techniques and let me just say everything that I have learned as a model has to be put on the back burner for Acting. The reason why I decided to take this class was to help me nail my commercial auditions. I am getting calls but I'm not getting booked.Day One of class and we are told what not to wear on an audition which include shiny lip gloss, low or revealing necklines, gaudy jewelry, the colors red, white or black and stay away from prints. We are being given this information for head shot purposes. Your head shot should focus and draw attention to your face and not to your outfit. While sitting in class and taking notes thoughts of reprogramming myself are going through my mind as I am thinking about the red blouse I have on in my current head shot. I'm thinking to myself that my head shot is working and I'm just not fully trained on the technique side. Should I tell my brand new instructor that? SOME ADVICE FOR A YOUNG ACTOR

The actor who had the problem, hadn't been training much at all. Somehow though, he got through the audition process and got the job. He didn't have a technique to fall back on. He didn't know how to create a character. He didn't know how to access the emotions he needed for the part.
